Description Baker County Board of Comissioners Court Record dated October 27th, 1862. Minutes of their meeting October 27th-29th, 1862. Present were: Honorable John Q Wilson, County Judge, M Manahan and FM Spears, Co- Comissioners, William Waldo, Deputy Clerk, Samuel A Clarke, Clerk. Appointed Eli Stewart, County Treasurer( replaced by Jacob Norcross who did not accept so DH Belknap was appointed), George W Hall, Sheriff, James M Kirkham, County Assessor, and Benjamin Bowman, Coroner. On the 29th they ordered that Baker County be divided into 5 Precincts: Grande Rounde, Cove, Powder River, Auburn and Burnt River. For Auburn Precinct, Sidney Abell was appointed Justice of the Peace and CP Smith appointed Constable.
