Round black & brown leather over wood travel hatbox. The edges have a sewn light cream leather. There is a lock on the front lid that reads: "Eagle Lock Company, USA, Terryville Conn."
The bottom section of the lock has a key face. The box has two hinge on the one flat side and a handle on opposite side. On the inside edges is a sewn velvet, cream strips and buttons, fabric covering with square and dots (org. red squares, black lines, white dots). The top lid section has a pocket with the same material and the base has snaps to remove a rounded section to keep hat from flattening. The wire from an identification tag is intact on the handle.
