Large navy blue cloth bound book with black & gold embossed books, cherubs, decorative elements and lettering:"The Works of Shakespeare, Complete". The spine has the same decorative elements and lettering. The back has an embossed boarder and a circular flower in the center. The book is set up in three vertical columns with small lettering. Each play starts with an illustration and can be followed by verse. The title page has reads: "The Works of Shakespeare, Complete, New York: Hurst & Co. Publishers, No. 122 Nassau Street." no copyright date. A foreign language pamphlet for German and French language text—books was found on page 222.
