Description:
Alaska—Yukon Pacific Expo Souvenir Spoon produced by Silvertown, Joseph Mayer & Bros. pat.#38695. The front of the spoon's handle, being at the far end is an American Bald Eagle, a bust of William H. Seward (with the name around the head and below the words, Father of Alaska). The bust is followed by three evergreen trees, a human head with long hair (curved over the top of the head are the words: The Original Seattle) after which are two flowers, a totem pole and a figure of a man followed by a crossed pick and shovel. The back of the spoon's handle has a shield symbol at the top with a dragon, a Chinese gate, a Chinese scene, three flowers, a rising or setting sun and two ships. The word "Sterling" is stamped followed by the words "Alaska—Yukon Pacific Exposition" in a scroll design. Where the handle joins the bowl of the spoon is the pat. number then a crossed pick and shovel with the letters "MB". The bowl of the spoon's interior says "Agricultural BLD AYP Expo and a depiction of the building. The back of the spoon's bowl says:" Official Souvenir Alaska—Yukon Pacific Expo, Approved: JE Chilberg president, IA McClean? director general."
