Artifacts
Description:
A rectangular cream—gray demask table or dresser scarf. The pattern appears to be plums with vine type leaves and round blossoms. The Leaves and blossoms decorate the center of the scarf and on each end is a rose colored band of geometric patterns and decorative leaves that overlay. There is a square repeat pattern that goes around two edges and rose geometric repeat boarders or rose colored strip. The edges on the long sides are warbled (cut & sewn imperfect). The short sides are decorated with 7 inch fringe that is braided using alternate bunches of thread to create a criss—cross, then forming again into a large strip of roses, followed by an open weave criss—cross, again into a strip of cherry blossoms, and finally into open wave criss—cross and knotted together. The ends are ruff like raw silk? On the pattern's light side near the boarder reads: "48" in pencil.
