Description:
Wooden lounge/rocking chair, appolstered in a red velvet and arm tassels. The base of the chair is a square frame constructed with four feet, the two front ending in metal casters with white glass rollers, tipping the chair backwards slightly on to the two solid wood back feet. Metal fittings support the rocking movement and gage the distance of the rocking motion. The chair has a curved base allowing for rocking on the frame. The bottom is appolstered in a silk or cotton fabric with an oil cloth feel attached with nails . The chairs stuffing an wire frame also curve. The velvet appostry is on the seat, seat back and the two arm rests. The velvet is bordered with cording and ribbon, on the arm rests tassels hang down on both sides. The tassels are wool/ velvet? strips ending in a wooden bead wrapped in gold thread. The wooden sides, front and top of chair are covered with dots, lines, flower motif and leaves. On the top of the chair's crown is a carved relief piece with two flowers that look like suns flaked by two side flowers.
