Description The final accounting by D. D. Drake of the estate of John Desmond, January 19, 1863, cash found of person of deceased: 243.36. Half of persona property: 58.90, Shot gun, 12.00, Revolver, 15.00; Knife, 3.00. Total 332.25. Debts paid, including coroner, $140.25. Remainder $192.00, which after subtracting "administrative expenses" will use up the remainder. Charged to the deceased are bills for laying out, drawing papers, medical attendance, making coffin, hauling to grave, digging grave, funeral expenses, engraving headstone, advertising, and the headstone itself.
